An annual report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Tuesday reveals that Etowah County in Alabama has surpassed St. Louis for the nation’s highest STD rates. Etowah county’s chlamydia rate is one diagnosis for every 24 people, a rate three times higher than St. Louis. Etowah’s gonorrhea rate is one diagnosis for every 58 people.
