The 2019 Alabama Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) survey – Sexual Behaviors Fact Sheet is now available in the Alabama Campaign’s Resource library. We are pleased to release this data and announce that Alabama students are making safer choices related to their sexual health than they were in 2015 – for sexually active high schoolers, more are using condoms, more are using birth control to prevent unintended pregnancy, and more are being tested for HIV than in 2015. The YRBSS is conducted every two years in Alabama by the CDC and the Alabama State Department of Education. Responses were not released in 2017, so this is the first data related to Alabama adolescent sexual risk behaviors we have seen since 2015.
